Meet Xtopay

Payments for Ghanaian businesses, from the company behind Sendexa. What Xtopay is, what you can do with it today, and what's coming next.

For years, Sendexa has helped businesses in Ghana reach their customers by SMS, WhatsApp, voice and email. But a message that says "your order is ready" is only half the conversation. The other half is getting paid.

Xtopay is that other half. It's built by Sendexa Limited, here in Ghana, so that getting paid is as easy as sending a message.

Your own link to get paid

Every business on Xtopay gets its own address: xtopay.me/your-name. Share it on WhatsApp, put it in your Instagram bio, or print its QR code at your counter. Customers open it, enter the amount and their details, and pay.

  1. Nana's Kitchen's pay page, xtopay.me/nanaskitchen: the amount, the customer's name and phone, and a Pay button

    Your link

They open xtopay.me/you, enter the amount and who they are.

  2. The checkout: Mobile Money chosen, with the phone number and network, and a Pay button

    The checkout

MoMo or card. MoMo is approved with their own PIN, on their own phone.

They pay the way Ghana pays: with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AT Money, approving a prompt on their own phone with their own PIN, or with a Visa or Mastercard on our payment partner's secure page. You never see their PIN or card number, and neither do we.

Everything you need to get paid

Your link is where most businesses start. When you need more, it's all in the same account:

  • Payment links for each thing you sell, each with its own price and its own questions for the customer.
  • Payment pages for a menu, event tickets or donations, where customers choose what they want.
  • Invoices that customers pay online, with reminders if they're late.
  • A checkout for your own website, and an API for developers, with signed webhooks.
  • Payouts to your MoMo wallet or bank account, on the schedule you choose or whenever you ask.

Every cedi shown

Every payment in your dashboard shows the amount, Xtopay's fee and what's yours. Nothing is hidden in a monthly statement, and signing up is free.

Built to keep your money safe

Owners sign in with a code from an authenticator app as well as a password. Payout accounts are checked with the network or bank before they're saved, and a new one waits 24 hours before it's paid. Every change to where your money goes is emailed to you. You can read more about it on our Security page.

What's next

We're working on refunds from the dashboard, subscriptions, QR payments with GhQR, and more ways to pay at the checkout: bank transfer, USSD and digital wallets. We'll write about each one here as it arrives.

If you'd like to try Xtopay, signing up is free, and your link is ready as soon as you pick your name.
